Don't know exactly when this happenned but when I look at all the drives I have available, WinXP Pro recognizes a CD Drive that does not exist? I have a CD-RW drive and a DVD drive, it tells me I have a third! What's up with that?

System specs (Big Bertha) in Sig.

This happened to me before as well, and for the life of me, I can't freakin remember what I did to fix it. Try un-installing all your CD drives and then re-seat them on the ide cable. Or even change positions. I think I did try this, and it might have fixed it, though I'm not sure.

Disagree. Yes Win XP, and Office XP aren't perfect, but they are better than all the competition, and in the case of Win XP, it still is good IMHO
