At first i thought it was funny, but now its starting to bug me. When i go to the windows update site and scan for updates, it just sits there, and locks up internet explorer. And just to clarify, I am running a LEGAL copy of XP pro, so im not sure whats going on. Anybody have any ideas or experience the same problem??

Thanks
Butch

Like you, I'm running XP Pro. When I first installed it, I had problems with system lock-ups including while running update. Ultimately, I had to reinstall XP about 8 times over a 2-3 week period to get a stable install. One thing I found when doing updates is to only do one update at a time. That way, if you do have a problem with an update, you can tell MS support which one gave you a problem. Mind you, my system still locks up from time to time during seemingly random events but its doing it a heck of a lot less often than it did under Win 98SE or during my previous XP installs.
