Why does Win2k keep running out of RAM?!?!

I thought Win2k was supposed to be more stable than this. After running my computer for a day or two, everything starts going down. Programs wont load. Internet Explorer loses its menu bar. I can't open folders. Etc. I have to resort to closing other running programs, and it is only a matter of time before I have to restart my computer. I bought a stick of 256 MB Crucial RAM (now I have 512 MB RAM) just because I thought it would help, but it doesn't seem to make a bit of difference. Is there some memory leak? The programs loaded at startup are:
* Creative Lab's AudioHQ
* dash.com's dashbar
* MusicMatch Jukebox
* d.net client
* CesarFTP Server
* WeatherBug
* AIM
* Asus Probe

Is there a problem with a memory leak or something? Please help!

looks like it

try removing EVERYTHING or a Total reinstall

then install one by one monitoring the memory usage.

I run NOTHING in my windows and Win2000 uses 58MB RAM when startup

I dunno if I'm ready to do that xtreme2k but I'm sure it will solve my problem (though it'll be a serious bitch!). When I go to the Computer Management applet and go down to the Startup Programs folder, how do I edit whether I want those programs loading up at startup or not? Thanks.

Processes tab:
explorer.exe 22,096k
svchost.exe 6,558k
services.exe 6,312k
mstask 4,216k
WeatherBug.exe 4,160k
(...)

Performance tab:
Physical Memory(k)
Total - 523744
Available - 356720
System Cache - 320836

(Is commit charge or kernel memory important?)

Looking at it there is nothing wrong.
Your cache size is about 320MB which accounts for the little free memory you have. But that cache is not the problem since it will reduce its size when you need the memory.
Can you actually do a screen shot of the taskmanager?

It MIGHT be on of your programs conflicting with Win2000. Try unloading some of those startup programs to see if there is an improvement.

How do I do a screenshot? Also, how do I edit the startup programs in the Computer Management applet? It just seems to display what's loaded at startup, but doesn't allow for changes.

The only way I know is to edit it from the registory. HOWEVER, most programs nowadays DO have options for you to choose if it will be run at startup or not. Look into the options for most programs and you will know. AudioHQ has it, AIM has it I think. Dnet doesnt but it is only manually put on, or is it? hehe. I am not sure about the rest but it is BEST to remove the program from starting up is from their own Options.

Anyway, I think (yes I THINK i am not 100% sure) this is the key is here.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

To do a screen shot, you press the PrintScreen key on your keyboard and then go to Paste it into a image editing program such as photoshop. To do a screen shot with ONLY the Active Window Box/Program, ALT + Printscreen is the way to do it.

Not uninstall

but Run at startup options

I dont have it installed at all, but as far as I remmeber, go to the Menus of the program, in Option there is a Run at Startup option.
