oh im sorry, goto NICs properties in device manager, goto the driver tab, click update driver and in the next window goto select from list, then dont search, then goto "have disk". locate the folder that you extracted to and goto the winxp folder within the folder you extracted to and select the NETDLKR5. then ok, next, then click continue if it gives any warning, then reboot.
oh in your concern why it says #5, #6 etc in network connections, it seems to do for some odd reason (think because things arnt cleard from registry), you can just right click and rename them to what ever you want. And as far as it detecting card as realtek isnt because of your old card, this did the same for me on both my systems i installed this card in (in which they never had realtek before)
