Why does Walmart make you pay for electronics stuff at the electronics section?

I don't understand this. Why can't we just pay for all the stuff at the cashiers at the front of the store? I don't see the point.

So people dont walk out the store with them. Or they could buy time to get all the security stuff off the item while still browsing.

Yeah, but if you buy electronics stuff at the electronics section you get to walk around with a Walmart bag. Doesn't it make it easier to shoplift? You can put stuff you didn't pay for in the bag.

yes, but if you take something from the electronics department (you don't HAVE to get a bag) someone will assume you have already paid for it, making stealing easier.

yes, but if you take something from the electronics department (you don't HAVE to get a bag) someone will assume you have already paid for it, making stealing easier.

But then if they didn't have a seperate cashier there in the first place, they wouldn't have that problem.

A lot of other stores do the same thing... Toys R Us, Superstore, etc...

If you've just bought a moderately expensive electronics item, chances are small you're going to steal a couple bags of $0.99 gummy bears. 😉

WTF! $.99 at walmart? I can get em for $.25 each at costco
