Why does tv bleep out the 'god' in 'goddamn'?

I had noticed that too. It seems like the same as bleeping out the "bull" in bullsh!t. Although I've noticed that only the "I" and "U" are getting bleeped in the words "sh!t" and "fvck" lately. They somehow preserve all the consonants.
