Why does Thunderbird place text above the reply text?

You know when you reply to someone's email.....in Outlook, it would put the text you are replying to beneath what you are typing and that makes sense since what you are typing obviously is going to be the newer part of the email...


But in thunderbird it places the old text you are replying to above what you are typing so when the other person gets your email they might get confused if they didn't scroll down to see that you have typed something.....

anyway to fix this?

Because people read top to bottom, not bottom to top so it makes more sense for later text to be below the previous text. However, Outlook defaulted to the opposite so pretty much everyone expects it that way now.

Take a look at your reply in this thread, why did you put it below lxskllr's quoted text/image instead of above?
