Why does the V5 5500 have a power connector?

I doubt that very much. I'm pretty sure some of the gold connectors are used for the power supply transfers and the others are used for data transfers (and some aren't used at all). Even if what you say is true (which I doubt), somehow I don't think the "latency" of electricty is going to slow us down too much. ;)
