Why does the shuffle function on Google Play's music player suck so bad?

Anyone else notice this? This is across devices for me. I have 2000 songs, I'm not using any play-list to shrink that down. Yet it plays the same 50 or so songs constantly. Even if I select a song not in that group, it will play 2 or 3 not from that group of 50...and then start playing from only them again. Also if I have a couple live versions of a song it'll play the studio, then both of the live versions right in a row. It's absolutely horrid. Please tell me this isn't just me.

Yeah, I've always noticed this too. Google Play has problems shuffling large playlists too. It seems to never play a lot of the songs in the playlist and repeats a smaller group of them over instead.

Maybe they licensed their random number generator from Apple. I swear I have this exact same complaint about my iPod Touch. Who would have thought such a simple concept would be so hard to realize? I wonder how good Microsoft's random play is ....

The only shuffle I've EVER seen work problem in my entire life is Winamps.

It worked well on mobile as well. I can't say I've had much of a problem with DoubleTwists's shuffle, but it's not as good.

Shuffle on GooglePlay has been a problem for years now. That and the Repeat button. Many times it doesn't do what it shows.

This is through my Android and my iPhone.

google, in general, pretends to care about their users, their only concern is the shareholders. Ship it broken, we'll fix it with the rewrite in our next framework or design language update

thanks, I'll give it a try!

note that I am in the minority for some reason with this though. We had another thread where everyone was talking about how incredible PowerAmp is. But, the problems I have had were echo'd by several others there so. I believe I am right in saying PlayerPro is much better.
