Why does the is the status bar disabled everytime I open IE?

I am using 6.0 and I have to enable the status bar everytime I open the app. WTF?

I hate it when the status bar is disabled, also

when i open a new window and it opens up microscopic

Close all windows. Open one IE window. Enable the status bar, and for brunswickite, make the window the size you like. Close the window. From now on, it will open exactly as you closed it.

Bah.. it's a bug. It happens over and over again.

Not for me. Using XP pro SP1 and IE 6 I never lose my status bar.

Though I often have to resize the windows because popups change the default size.

I think the key is to use file - exit rather than clicking the red X. It seems to have (temporarily?) solved the problem...

here is a solution that i found to work.

open up windows explorer...go to view and enable status bar if it is not already enabled.
go to tools...folder options.
under the view tab click on apply to all folders.

next time u open IE or windows explorer the status bar should always be showing.

hope it works

I remember reading on the Microsoft site that this is an acknowledged bug in IE 6. It doesn't happen on my main pc but it does on my laptop whenever I open a new window.
