Hi, I was wanting to know what you guys think about this. This happens sometimes when I am switching from multiple IE's, word docs, pdf's, etc. Is their anyway to stop the desktop from refreshing all the icons when I come back to the desktop?

Specs:

AMD X64 3200+
1gig PC4000
Antec 550W HE
36GB raptor, 200GB Hitachi
2 dvd-rw's

TIA for any help

The problem with that is that changes you make to the underlying folder don't get represented promptly anymore. It's a problem I've noticed in Gnome and KDE from time to time. You move a file into your desktop folder with either a file system browser or the command line and it doesn't show up on the desktop. Then you have to start fiddling to figure out what will force it to refresh it's view. Pretty annoying.
