Why does the 5th episode of the first Phoenix Wright game suck?

I'm about halfway through this thing... and it's horrible! The first four episodes are pure awesome, but the fifth one sucks!

What happened? Did a bunch of members on the team go on vacation?

5th epi was developed long after the other four epis, hence the DS-specific features.

#5 is slow to start, and a bit more difficult that the other cases, but it ends up being pretty good IMO. If you really don't like it by the time you're done, don't buy the other PW games as it's a pretty good indication of the difficulty of the other games.

I tried the DS demo d/l'd through Wii. Didn't like it at all. It's very repetitive guessing game.

Guessing game? If you pay any attention to the game, there's really no guessing at all.

If you're just randomly presenting things in court, then yeah, it's a guessing game.

I don't like that they introduced a ton of new characters that had never been seen before. Suddenly the nameless chief of police from a previous chapter has a face and a completely different personality. And WTF is with that weirdass police guard?

Whatever, I guess I'll play it through to the end and see if it gets better. Day 1 of trial hasn't been very fun.

It starts off slow and really ramps up, its actually the most insane episode out of all of them.

All the other games don't compare to this one episode.

You will be floored by the ending.
