Why does system restore not keep my restores that are over a day old?

Hi,
Ive recently noticed that the system restore in WindowsXP Home Edition w/Serive Pack 1 & All available Updates, doesnt seem to keep my older system restore points why?
I would like to have at least 2weeks worth of restores available to me.

Come you lot give me any help on this?

Go into Control Panel, System, and hit the System Restore Tab. Make sure you have S/R turned on for all the drives you want it to cover. And also make sure you have allocated enough hard drive space for it to keep multiple dates, it fhat is what you want.

Its switched on for all of my drives, as follows
C: = 12% / 2290mb
D: = 6% / 1169mb
Z: = 6% / 1210mb

It kept my system restore from last night, but we`ll see if it disapears again in a few days.
