Why do they have such crappy service?

I've yet to experience good service at any Steak n Shake I've visited.

repeat - 3-4 dollar shakes after me 5 times, then you'll understand ;)

edited (I was working off of memory, I remember they were high - regardless it is low food cost high profit. )

BTW I agree - they were awesome - I liked thier fries especially :)

shakes here don't cost no $4 or $5 dollars.

and I agree, they are fast. But it aint usually a good sign when there are more employees than customers. That particular one always has more employees than customers.

Could it possibly their overpriced crap that keeps them in business?

Send some of them over to the steak n shake in Lansing, MI. Omg they are always understaffed, hence very poor service even when not busy. Slowest place I have ever eaten at. 15-20 min just for a shake, half the time there is something wrong with the order, but the food is really good. I stopped eating there over a year ago though, so it may have improved since.

As the only choice for 24 hour food besides Dennys, the Steak and Shakes in my area do a very good busniess. They are busy for breakfast, lunch, and dinner here.

They do have a crapload of people running around, but hey I get my food about five minutes after I order.

Same here....horrible service. Yet in the commercials they brag that they are sooo good at service. LOL
Also its freaking EXPENSIVE!!!!
When I order onion rings instead of the fries....they always give me like 3 small ones.
