Why does Sony hate it U.S consumer base so much?

Why in the world isn't the Red/Gold Metal Gear Solid V Limited Edition Console coming to the U.S? It coming to Europe and Asia but not the U.S? Why not? That really pisses me off. Couldn't they just make more? Talk about slapping your fan-base in the face. Maybe Uncharted 4 theme console will look nice and maybe it won't. That Red MGSV console is the best looking one so far and rival that of the Halo 5 theme console.

It absolutely beyond dumb not to release this console in the U.S. It not like the U.S has any decent looking PS4 theme console. Who fault is this? Sony? Konami? Do Japanese still hate Americans even after decades later? You know what, I hope all theme Xbox console never makes it way to both EU and Asia. I'll fight fire with fire! I'm really piss and even though it just about gaming, I'm still piss off about gaming. It like I have the money and the time to buy it and I can't. I literally can't. Damn maybe I should start my own Youtube video aka something similar to Angry Joe. This is just absolutely ridiculous.

I'm already piss that majority of all Monster Hunter games never made it to the U.S (past consoles).

Shoot, I'm MUCH more annoyed by how Nintendo makes North America wait on stuff.

Yoshi's Woolly World is the only thing I REALLY want for my Wii U right now. Here are its release dates:

Australia: June 25
Europe: June 26
Japan: July 16
North America: October 16

It's garbage that we have to wait an extra 3-3.5 months for it.

Buy a can of red spray paint and make your own. That's pretty much what Sony has done. Or are you that desperate for the tiny Metal Gear logo near the top? 😀

One thing you have to understand is that Japan's video game market is a different place than the rest of the world. They've latched on to mobile in a big way, and have been abandoning traditional consoles for a few years now. The PS4 isn't selling particularly well over there. It's actually in second place behind the Wii U. Even the Vita has sold more. This is why companies like Konami and Sega are jumping the console ship. Japanese developers have always prioritized the domestic market.

The PS4's marketing strategy has actually been laser focused on North America more than anywhere else. So think of this as Sony throwing Japanese gamers a bone.

As for the Monster Hunter series, that's a Capcom franchise. Sony doesn't have a lot of control over when and where third parties release their stuff. Localization is expensive and time consuming, so perhaps Capcom didn't think it was worth it. Besides, they've largely fallen into the same trap Konami has. The good news is that all current Sony systems are region free. So you can play any import games on a North American PS3, PS4, or Vita without modification. The downside is you have to be able to read Japanese.

Japan couldn't care less if the US did or didn't send a single new Xbox One into the country for the next year. They have more than enough stock on-hand already that isn't selling (they sold a grand total of 100 Xbox One consoles in all of Japan last month).

Ask people in Europe why they don't get bundles and special editions that we get. Sheesh...talk about overreacting.

Still waiting for a US date for the 1TB version.

Yes, I could put in a 1TB drive, but the newer revision is allegedly quieter.

@TC

The only big difference on that UK PS4, would be that it is PAL for DVD\Bluray playback, not NTSC. So, if you have, say a DVD that's NTSC only, then it won't play on the pretty red and black PS4. This is less of an issue now, though, since Bluray are not in 480i or 576i anymore, they're usually 1080p and play in both regions, you might just not get all the special feature content. The PAL vs NTSC is more of a DVD concern, not Bluray.

So, it probably won't matter.... and you could totally import one in and link it up to a U.S. PSN account, no issues. PS4s are not region locked for games.

If you want a Metal Gear PS4, there's nothing stopping you from getting one. Just pay the small extra shipping cost, and be done with it. No reason to be a crybaby.

What special editions and bundles are you talking about? That MGSV beat all PS4 bundles available in the U.S in my opinion.

And to answer your question. Americans made Xbox and Japanese made Playstation, what has Europe made? For a continents that big, why hasn't anyone been able to make a gaming console?

Beside European has higher wages than American so it even out.

Wow...I'm glad you have it all figured out.

I do apologize if I offend anybody, I tend to assume everyone online is in the U.S. 😳

I have nothing against European. It not really European fault, this is strictly Konami and Sony fault. And I don't know what bundles you were talking about but I think it should be available worldwide as well.

I just want equally for everyone even if it doesn't come across that way in my previous post

This has been going on forever. Special edition albums/cds to other countries with songs never released in the states, games that made it to Europe but never to the states, etc etc. It's just the way of marketing.

I know it has been going on forever but that doesn't make it right. I can understand if it has to do with the language barrier such as importing certain Japanese games and such but that neither the case here.

I used to live in Asia for a few years and the amount of stuff they get that never see the light of day in the U.S is mind-boggling.

They had a few games similar to Monster Hunter back on PS2 that I have never seen in the U.S. Of course they were Japanese Titles so I couldn't tell you what they would be call due to not having translation in the first place.

DBrand, Slickwraps and others have skins if you want to change the look of your console.

Skins aka Vinyl and Sticker are not the same as proper paint job and permanent look and feel of the console itself unfortunately. Plus I check out most of them, they were all pretty ugly and dreadful.

I may eventually have to if no decent good looking PS4 come out but I want to have a theme PS4 to match my theme X1. I'm an OCD perfectionist.

I kind of miss out on the white X1 and white PS4 since they a perfect match and they aren't black cause I'm so sick of black in everything now. I'm the guy with one purple and one gold phone, orange/green painted room, and clothes of every color imaginable. I like to stand out from the crowd. Also my laptop is pink :whiste:😳

Even worse, when they launched the Wii U it had no original games available. We're still waiting on a new Zelda, Metroid, and Mario.

I don't honestly care about Zelda or Metroid games. However, we've got about a million Mario titles, so I assume you're speaking only to a 3-D game like Galaxy or SM64. Between Mario Maker, NSMBU, SM3DW, MK8, the upcoming Mario Tennis, and Mario Party 10, there's plenty of Mario on the system. Plus, there are plenty of Virtual Console offerings.

I don't mind delay so much as compare to not having it at all. I do realize and know that when it come to release date, Europe does get the shaft of it most of the time and I don't think that is fair. I get mad quite a lot but I'm still a fair guy.

But since I made this thread, it got me thinking? Why hasn't the German or any other European countries made their own console? I mean having three choice to choose from is not a bad thing since Nintendo is going down the drain everyday in my opinion. What new games have they release? What new IP have they created?

Are you trying to argue that because one of the two major consoles that has broken into the market successfully is not from Europe, that Europeans should not be allowed to buy them?

Do you think the world of gaming would improve with a third console that has the same hardware as the other two?

Nope the complete opposite quite actually. I think more variety and option is always better. Back when we had Xbox, PS2, and GC, that was the best period in console gaming in my opinion.

To play devil's advocate on this idea, game developers and publishers already have to consider the business side of developing games for a LOT of platforms. You have PC, PS4, XBO, PS3, Xbox360, Wii U, Vita, the NX coming up, and so on. Each version of the game you port doesn't cost a trivial amount of money. A new console competitor would further fragment the gamer install bases, and make game development even more expensive than it already is.... so publishers aren't going to be welcoming a new competitor with open arms.

AFAIK, Yoshi's Woolly World is an exceptional case, rather than the norm. Nintendo is usually good at doing global release dates (< 1 month) for games that have minimal translation requirements (See: Super Mario 3D World, New Super Mario Bros U, Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros).

The only notable exceptions I can think of are third party titles, usually cult franchises like Monster Hunter or Persona where the NA release isn't guaranteed to happen in the first place and they're doing a wait-and-see to figure out if a NA release is worth it. Or maybe a few RPG games where there was a significant amount of translation to get through.

Edit: TBH I'm kinda glad there was a delay on Yoshi's Woolly World. It got somewhat mediocre reviews. I might've bought it Day One if it were a global release, but having had the chance to read a bunch of reviews and watch some Youtube clips, I'll probably wait for a sale.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is scheduled to release 7 months after the Japanese release. That's a long time to just add an English dub.

Genei Ibun Roku ♯FE has a Q4 2015 release date, but they only say "2016" for an English language release.... which could mean it'll be delayed quite a few months from the Japanese release. Also on that one.... Genei Ibun Roku isn't a marketable name in Western markets, and they haven't even bothered to properly name the game.
