Why does something with zero calories have to advertise '0 carbs'?

I bought some flavored sparkling water at Target. As I was unpacking, I noticed the front of the bottle said '0 carbs.'

I look on the back and, as expected, it has zero calories, like every other flavored sparkling water I've had.

Some stupid people in marketing I guess. And yes, this thread has no point

Because they're on the carbs-are-bad bandwagon along with the rest of this fat country.

But wouldn't advertising 'zero calories' also be the same thing? I mean, I don't know anyone who doesn't realize that calories come from fats, carbs, and proteins, and advertising 'zero calories' logically can be taken to 'has zero protein, carbs, and fat.'

Like you said, marketing. "0 carbs" is a catch phrase now, and people buy into it.

Take it back and smash an unsuspecting clerk in the face with it. They deserve to get their noses broken and lose their eyesight forever.

People are morons, and I'd bet that much of the population really has no idea how your body uses carbohydrates/protein/fat. And it's the latest catchphrase.

You look at cheese now, and it says LOW CARB. It's cheese, damn it. It has never had carbs in it. It's protein and fat.

Because people are stupid.

Yep, and people continue to educate themselves about health from advertisements. Then when all their bodily functions stop working properly because of their disgusting diets, they rely on advertising again to tell them about drugs that can suppress the symptoms of the their body slowly wasting away. (not to say all prescription drugs are bad, just saying)

"Things" don't advertise themselves for no reason. Companies advertise them because they want you to notice/buy them. If it didn't work, they wouldn't do it, and the fact that we're even having this discussion indicates that you noticed it on some level, and thus it worked.
