Why does something seem fishy here?

Well guys,

I've been trying to o/c this dang XP 1800+

Well....Today I tested it at 11.5x150fsb @ 1.85v.....Ran Prime95, wouldn't passed the self test and gave me a "hardware failure detected"......So, I bumped the voltage to 1.90v in the bios....Motherboard Monitor reports it as 1.92v....Well, whatever works huh.....So, Prime95's been running for since about 12:15pm, and it's 5:35pm right now.....I've been checking MBM5, and the temp is at 42*C, w/ the high (as reported by MBM) as 44*C........This couldn't possibly be true???

I dont know.....I'm using an Alpha 8045 w/ a Sunon fan, blowing air down onto the heatsink....I used AS3 as the goop....Maybe the AS3 really DID set in after a few days? I've had the rig built since thursday, and really only started using and messing with it on saturday......Could it actually be the AS3 setting in and dropping temps by a bit?

I'm gonna play some UT2k3 and see how things fair.....

Is 1.92v too high? I would think the temps would be a LOT higher than 42 or even 44*C.....There's two 80mm case fans in back and one 80mm in front......They're enermax fans that came w/ this enermax case......

Any ideas here guys?

those temps seem about right
try the fan on the other way, its technically supposed to suck air away from the heatsink, so maybe give it a shot and see how it works

i had xp1800+ system with mcx462 w/ delta 68cfm and at 1.92v in windows 1.85bios it would be about 40-41c idle and 42 or so under full load

yeah i wouldnt mess with it either for now
maybe later i would ;)

that voltage shouldnt be too detrimental at those temperatures, they are almost like tbirds in that axp's can take quite a bit of voltage
