Why does some plastic smell like chocolate?

And no, this isn't a joke.

When I was little my sister had a baby toy that smelled like chocolate. I always assumed that they had added some sort of scent to it, & eventually it did fade away to some extent.

However...

I have a roll of Priority Mail tape sitting next to me, & it has the same smell to it. If you use large amounts of it (like make a mummy out of somebody) then you can really smell it. I'm not the only person that thinks this, either. Other people who have been around when I was using it have commented on the smell as well.

Anybody know why this is?

you should run at test and eat a priority mail tape and see if it test like chocolate too
if it does, then it's make out of chocolate

i agreee i've seen a few other things that smell like it, im my middle school we go bus tokens and the bags also smelled like chocolate!

I have some packing tape here that smells like a skunks ass (not that I know what that sort of thing smells like)....never smelled anything that resembled chocolate
