Why does SlimBrowser not get any respect?

First off: I've used Slimbrowser for over 2 years now and FireFox since its Firebird Days...
When someone asks me what browser to use instead of IE. I have found it much easier to recommend Slimbrowser than Firefox to those less than savvey users.

It just seems like a best of both worlds merger between Firefox and IE...

SlimBrowser:
Tabbed Browsing - I like SB better than FF due to it remembering the order you looked at tabs
ActiveX Filtering - SB's seems to be adequate
Rendering - Uses IE's engine, which beats FF in terms of overall compatibility
Pop-up Blocker - Seems to work just as well as FF
Spyware Blocking - Seems to work just as well as FF
Zoom - I dont' think Firefox has this
Stability - Neither are perfect, I would have to give the edge to FF here (probably because of IE render engine)
Performance - Initial load is quicker than FF, but FF is noticeably faster when using the back button.
Ease of Adoption from IE - Slimbrowser wins hands down, as it uses the same favorites and history folder as IE
Looks - SB is FUGLY by default, but turn off some toolbars and skinning and you have a slightly sexier IE.
Searching - FF has a slight edge here in term of searchable sites, but I like that you can set the address bar in SB to search where you want. (I know FF does this, but it only uses Google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" search)

I personally use and love both. I just think its amazing how much more press FireFox gets...

P.S. This was posted from Firefox :)

I have not noticed any spyware that gets through Slimbrowser... I'm assuming that is what your complaint means when you say its just IE. Am I incorrect?

Spyware is not the main issue. It is just the feel of the way IE loads pages. I like the feel of FF more and I like the UI and extensions better.
