Why does Scalia have to be such a neoliberal/progressive hybrid dip****?

He's progressive, such as upholding gun control (although you can't technically be neoliberal on gun control, you can be conservative on gun control, but he takes the progressive position on gun control). Then, he violates states' rights by voting neoliberally on the issue of whether someone can sue over a contract. Then, he goes back to his progressive side by voting neoconservatively on foreign policy.

Further, the professor I had for Con Law told me that he believes Scalia is in favor of overturning Utah's Con Tender Act.

So I have to ask: Why is Reagan considered a conservative if he appointed this neoliberal/progressive hybrid POS to the Supreme Court?

I'd like to see his sorry ass removed from the bench. He's a classic neocon.
