Since when did you need Nukes to protect couple of cities and a desert ?

So the Bush admin makes a bug deal about Iran uranium enrichment but what are they doing with SA trying to get nukes? It is becoming increasingly clear that SA royalty needs to be dealt with today instead of later. Screw N. Korea, mojority of 9-11 suspects were from SA, Bin-laden is also from SA. What more proof do the foriegn policy makers need?

Don't even get me started on Pakistan. Our so called ally aginst terrorism needs a swift kick in the butt for nuclear proliferation.

They want them because it has been demonstrated that middle eastern countries are vulnerable to attack.

Also, if neighboring countries get them, they do not want to be the odd man out

And, if it were your couple of cities and your desert, you would want to protect it too.

this is really false, thje fbi has already said that the hijackers use FAKE passports and most of the people that were plastered all over the wall and on TV were pissed, and complained to their govt and are still alive and well. So, we really dont know WHO was on the planes. Also, why DONT they need nukes, they need the for the same reason we have them. if you were there wouldnt you want your govt to have nukes in a time where other countries are breathing down your throat?

I knew that owners of one or two of the passports used came forth alive and well with no relations to the attack what so ever, dont know about the rest though

dude, nobody wants to attack SA. Did you guys even bother to read the article ?

Their excuse is Iran. Well Iran has agreed to roll back their enrichment program and agreed to all inspections. SA is under US protection so now tell why in the hell do they need it?

The have the best equipment money can buy yet their planes are flown by pakistani pilots. How can you trust nuclear weopons with such a lame country ?

Israel was always under US protection, why did they feel they need nukes?

What's up with your bias against Saudi Arabia anyway?

You asked why they need them, not if they ought to be trusted. We are just trying to explain to you that it is their (the SA's) perception that is driving things, not yours.

Consider Saddam. There is a genuine pic of Rumsfeld shaking Saddams hand. Times change, haven't they? I think that Iran was not pursuing the construction of nukes, but the capability to make them if the geopolitical situation shifted yet again. That is what I believe drives all these countries as well.

Of course few countries are going to say openly they fear the US, but they have reason to. Other countries having the potential to acquire them drives this too. Why do you think we had enough weapons to exterminate humanity many times over? Because the Soviets did. It had nothing to do with using nukes, but about not being behind psychologically.

Bottom line... These countries want nukes because of Americans saying we should take them out.

Also, Iran not having the ability to make home brews are not prevent them from getting former USSR weapons.

Nope, it is amazing how things remain the same. The US put Saddam in power when Iran was the "biggest threat". They trained and supplied Osama Bin Laden's army of "guerilla warriors" (also known as terrorists) to fight the "evil commies" in Afghanistan. Mark my words, whoever they place in Iraq will bite them in the ass again in 25-50 years. The woll is being pulled over people's eyes if they think this has anything to do with National Security. It's a reason to grab as much power and money as possible, and not for the country, but for the individuals (mis)leading it.

Pakistan has them because India does, an issue you apparently know nothing about.

It is all about mutual anhilation. Those who have the most nukes obviously win the war. Since they can blow up the same spot over and over again. Really if you think about it, who really needs nukes anymore anyway. Certainly not china, india, the middle east, russia, US, etc. The fact of the matter is there will always be some complete moron who has the power to push the button. The only country who has ever used a nuclear weapon, was the US, and those were very small yield bombs compaired to what we have at our disposal today. No one fully understands the kind of devistation that detonating a current day nuke would cause. Some of which could wipe out parts of the globe. Take a high yield nuke, and detonate it over the desert. The radiation will cover the blast radius and kill everything in it. With varying degrees of death and destruction in circular areas for hundreds of miles outside the initial radius. Then the dust and radioactive debris will travel hundreds if not thousands of miles by the weather systems. I can still remember the radio active cloud that traveled around the world when chernobyl melted down in the late ~80's. You see MOAB's are way better. At least then we can build and farm the places that have been wiped out. A nuclear bomb site takes a long time to become habitable again.
