Why does rotating a nearly dead battery revive it for a bit?

Dead Remote.. Spin the batteries and you can usually get a little more juice... why is that?

that's cause all the electrons point the same way after you rotate it.

It's probably because the time it takes you to pull the batteries out and rotate them allows the chemicals in the battery to react with each other to produce a stronger charge. It's temporary because when you use the device again the charge falls back to unusable levels and the reaction can't keep up with the drain
