For me, the key to PC living room gaming was the mouse. I went with a wired version of this mouse from Logitech:

That way, I didn't have to worry about mouse movement. I could sit on the couch with the keyboard on my lap and the mouse next to me. It worked great.

Yep, I use the wireless version. Works great. I think my biggest issue is input lag. I can't seem to get rid of it completely so FPS games just don't work well. Also, small detail games (like LoL) are hard to play on a 70" screen from 12' away Games that are consolized work great (ie: Sonic Generations).

Not my actual setup, just reference. I'll post a pic later. I use a metal Razr mousepad for my mouse Monitor is a 25" HP 2509b, though I did used to use a 4:3 many, many moons ago.
