I have my gaming pc connected to my living room tv. I also have my 360 and ps3 connected to the same tv. While I can play the consoles hours on end, with the pc I tend to stop after 30-45 mins. I bought a stand, the best wireless keyboard/mouse money can buy and yet my experience has not changed. One thing I think could be with the consoles I can slouch in the couch or even put my feet up, but with pc, I have to sit rigid and the couch is not the most comfortable for that position!

Inappropriate posture. You're leaning upward and stretching. Put a couple of pillows between your back and the couch to keep yourself supported.

learn you dont need the KBAM right next to eachother on a flat board

alternately, use a controller for PC games. they're just console ports for most AAA titles anyhoo.

i really only play controller enabled games on my living room PC. Too hard to get a comfortable set up. Maybe a recliner with a board across for the K+B.

Ive been trying to play in bed, and its not bad. My setup is pretty hilarious, desk near bed, monitor on swivel. Its my lazy station. To be honest in that position, my back ends up hurting more than if i were just at a desk.

Usually MP with a k+B ill play sitting, campaign mode Ill play in bed if its cold and im lazy.

i also toyed with the idea of using a gamepad - like the nostromo for living room gaming. you could kinda hold your left hand anywhere with the nostromo, and it doesnt need to be on a flat surface, and then just use the mouse on the couch or something like that.

My problem with it was i just didnt like the nostromo. If there was one that felt good id give it a shot for the living room.

easy where do you put the PC if you want a corded mouse & why do I need a wireless mouse for this? (these would be regular consumer questions). Also where would you put the mouse and why would a normal person want a second PC to play games on.

PC gaming kinda needs a set posture for it to be enjoyable. If you're leaning on your couch and trying to type and mouse at the same time it's not exactly comfortable.

It does work, I just choose not to have my PC in my living room because I don't just play games on my PC... ;)

If you play on a couch, you need the appropriate Controller Interface to do it. Mouse/Keyboard doesn't work very well in that situation.

I've been doing pretty all my PC gaming like that for years using a lift top coffee table similar to this one:

When I play games on the PC hooked up to my Home Theater, I use the mouse on an armrest and the keyboard on my lap ...

I don't use wireless though, as IBM Model M keyboards are not available wireless that I'm aware of. And I hate dealing with batteries. So I simply use an PS2 extension for the keyboard, and a USB extension for the mouse.

This.

It's kinda like eating dinner on the couch using a tv tray/stand. You can either sit upright with your back away from the couch or you can lean back and risk dropping food all over yourself.

Easy chair mount

haha nice. I may take some pics of my "lazy station" tonight. I feel like some will be offended at the level of lazy fat-bastard-ness that went into it. It makes yours look practical.

For my HTPC\gaming box I have an XBOX 360 wireless controller for some games and wireless keyboard and mouse for other.
Mouse works fine on the couch cushion and keyboard in my lap.
I will say I prefer to game on my primary PC (at a regular desk)
