Can you give me details. I just know that the 5200 and 5600 benchmark SHlt worth anything.

your comparing all cheap cards, before you say nvidia sucks pay 350 and get a 6800GT then play a game on it. you wont be able to say they suck after that.

I didn't really get the OP, but nVIDIA's 5*** series doesn't seem to have been all that great.

The 6*** series, on the other hand... they're kicking serious spotted owl.

6600GT is like the budget gamer card to get. 6800GT is an awesome mid-upper level gaming card (X800XL is another solid one).

6800 Ultra is a savage, savage beast (although I'd rather have an X850XTPE).

So why does nVIDIA suck so bad? It's simple; they don't.

I agree, you are looking at Nvidia's bad series, the new line rocks. As Far as i can tell the 6600's and the 6800's are beating the pants off ATI.

and before you call me a fan boy I buy the best at the moment which is right now Nvidia.

Why are your reading skills so weak? Click the Video tab at the top of the page and see for yourself.

gf4 ti4200 = great card for its time, still a good used card for low budgets (under $75)

gf fx5200, 5600 = bad cards. Duh. Welcome to 2003.

r 9600 = decent card at low screen resolutions, only good if you can't spend the money for a 9700, 9800 or (best of the lot) nvidia 6600gt.

nVidia doesn't suck, those cards suck.

the ATI 9200SE and 9600SE are teh same ass cards those are.
might even be worse.

the 6800 series is awesome, much like the x800/850 series is awesome.

Those are cheap cards. With video cards, you get what you pay for.

I never owned an nvidia card until I bought my 6800 GT. Upgraded from a 9700 and I couldn't be happier. Plus my MB uses an nVidia chipset which also is awesome.

The 6600GT is only about $200 not $388.

gwarbot,

The 5900XT, 5900, 5900 Ultra, 5950, and 5950 Ultra were all kick-ass cards, with the 5900XT being super cheap, and faster than it had any right to be at 170 bucks (new).

I get over 80 FPS average in UT2004 with 4x/2x (AA/AF) with max details at 1024 x 768 on most any map. All that for under 200 dollars (new) with my 5900 Utra.

You should really look at the 3DMark site before writing off nVidia. The top of the list is most all nVidia cards.

Both companies have had their share of screw ups. Nvidia's NV30 core was a serious stumble for them, but ATi's Radeon 8500 and Rage Fury MAXX were nothing to be proud of either.

Just take it one generation at a time. Right now, be happy that both companies are kicking butt (ATi's availability on some cards aside).

They were talking about the 6600GT, a card around $200. That is a budget card. If I didn't have an 9800XT, I might just think about that card. I am partial to ATI, but right now the budget gamer card with the best value belongs to nVidia.
