why does nintendo recycle so much?

I actually wouldn't mind if Nintendo recycled a bit more for a few series. I would love a 2.5D Metroid game that was more like Super Metroid for the SNES.

I think they are doing what most video game developers are doing and since Nintendo is one of the only game companies that started the game console war they are trying to stay with what people know and remember playing as kids with their family. They don't want to stray from that because they have a base built on family while Microsoft and Sony have built off different concepts like call of duty. Neither of those companies make their owns games like Nintendo does.

Sony studios as does Microsoft. So yes they make their own games. Turn 10 who makes forza and rare who does a lot of kinect software and 343 studios who currentpy does halo are Microsoft owned. Media molecule who makes little big planet, naughty dog who made uncharted and last of us, sony Santa Monica who does god of war and sony San Diego who does mlb the show are all owned by sony.

My perspective on this changed over the holidays, at least regarding Nintendo's pattern of re-releasing old games on new systems. My buddy has a neice who loves everything Zelda. For Christmas she got a huge Hyrule encyclopedia which she wanted to take everywhere, even the restaurants. Without all these re-releases she'd have no easy way of playing the zelda games, so she'd be missing out on a lot. So... I guess I get it. These rereleased games aren't meant for us, they're meant for our kids.

Who is the mascot for the Playstation?

That's what I thought.

With a diverse library there is no need for a mascot at all. You can have multiple characters from games that when shown immediately say to you "that is from PlayStation" or "I know that character from the Xbox"
