Why does Newegg kick so much ass?

Here's why.....

I ordered a bunch of hardware Tuesday afternoon, and I got a confirmation e-mail saying that the stuff would ship in 1 to 2 days. I was hoping that it would ship in 1 day so I would get it on Friday since I opted for the 2nd day air. Well, it didn't ship on Wednesday, so I was a little bummed that I wouldn't be able to build this system over the weekend. Anyway, I get an e-mail today with a message saying that the package shipped this afternoon along with some FedEx tracking numbers. I go to the FedEx site and saw that indeed my package shipped out today as promised by Newegg, but it was on its way OVERNIGHT!!! I've never heard of a company automatically upgrading someone's shipping without having to be hassled to do so. Not to mention that they did ship within 2 days as promised, so I don't know why they would feel the need to do this great service for me for free.

NEWEGG ROCKS!!!

I got my package today via their slowest shipping. It got here BEFORE newegg could even email me with the tracking number, and only two days after I put in the order.

I have had it take as long as a week though.

um fedex saver is not the slowest method, it is guranteed to get you in 3 days and most of the time its 2 days so, it's like 2nd day fedex which is like next day if you get 2nd day lol much like priority mail with faster delivery and more reliable.

Newegg doesn't use UPS, so for that reason alone it's one of my favourites :)

I don't pay sales tax when I order from them.

Being in Oregon is nice when it comes to buying stuff.

Does FedEx leave packages by the door?

Sometimes with UPS, they require a signature to deliver a package but this is a pain since I work during the day and can't sign off on it. That means I have to go to the UPS center after work to pick it up. But the UPS center is about 30 miles away from where I work and this sort of takes away the convience of ordering things by mail.

Massive property taxes. Income taxes, too. Oh, they get their money alright. :frown: ;)

Yup. When I finally get my money I lose around 28-30% right off the top between state, federal, ss, etc. And I don't make all that much.

I've never in my life had to deal with sales tax, except when out of state which rarely happens.

Stormrider: They usually want a signature, but I call up Fed ex all the time to waive it and have them leave it at the door.

Thanks for clarifying bigsmooth. I figured as much. So actually I am better off living in a state like Kansas where I have lower property and income taxes, and making all of my purchases online from out-of-state businesses (which most all of them are for me). Voila... no sales tax and no huge property/income taxes either.

I dunno, somehow I think that the avoidance of paying sales tax online is going to change pretty soon. :( It's nice while it lasts though :)

heres my reason why newegg rocks....
I ordered a video card from them and it was defective... no big deal.. i just got an RMA on Tuesday and sent it back to them USPS Priority.... no hassle or anything... from georgia, im guessing they didnt receive it until yesterday.....I go online today and they've already overnighted me a new one.. just 3 days after i got an RMA and sent back the defective card... Im sure I'll be receiving it tomorrow....
That is just one of many stories that encourages me to buy from newegg whenever possible...

peace..

Good to hear.

How is the shipping charges calculated? If I buy multiple items, do the shipping charges stack up (one shipping add to another)? Or do they charge cheaper shipping based on the highest shipping cost of an item? Or is it a combination of both?

I plan on buying case, cpu, motherboard, etc from them in one order.
