Why does Nero let you "Automatically shut down the PC when done" after burning a disc?

Any particular reason?

Maybe you're one of those who doesn't like to leave the PC running 24/7 and you burn CDs right before you got to bed.

Granted, with today's 52x CD-RWs and 12x DVD burners, it doesn't make a lot of sense. But, I suspect it was a carry-over from the early versions of Nero and 1x/2x CD burners.

Hmm. I was thinking that maybe it affects the system when you burn something as large as a 700mb CD or 4 gig DVD. I've been having coaster issues when I burn a second disc after burning one disc with a lot of files on it (DVD discs, that is). I think I'll just restart in between each big job.

Yep, I had a 1x burner a looooong time ago. Not to mention you couldnt really do anything else while you were burning without risking a coaster... So, 70 minutes of no computer use, best time? bedtime!

that makes alotta sense...I'm so glad fast dvd/cd burners are only $70 now!

Yeah, it was only 4-5 years ago "Burn Proof" was an feature proprietary to Plextor drives, and few other drives allowed safe multitasking while burning. Those were the days . . .
