There's this thing that's been driving me mad because i can't find a solution anywhere; some people have reported the same problem but, a long time ago and the solutions posted (which worked for them) do not apply any longer or totally do not apply to me.

Sometimes, a youtube page does not fullscreen properly.

i've only seen it in chrome, because it's basically all i use. i'm also not really willing to move to FF because of all the good addons i have on chrome, and i'm really just used to it.

I fs (fullscreen) a video, and the navigation bar is still visible.
Initially i thought it was a property of the video, but it isn't - i can open the same link (copypaste) in another page and it will fs properly. There are no flags in the url that could lead to the defect.
Also, if i reload the page, the defect does not go away.

It's not linked to cookies as i have deleted the YT cookies and it still happens.

ATOT because we all know that's where the magic happens.

So, are you saying that the only problem you're having is that YouTube progress and controls bar remains visible? I see that only if I never move the mouse cursor off of the bar. Maybe try a different mouse/pointer device driver?

(BTW, I swear by the ImprovedTube extension to Chrome, which resizes the video in YouTube to the width of your window.)

nah, the actual navigation bar of chrome, with url, buttons, and favorites, is still visible. exactly like any other page, the video expands to fill everything except the toolbar.

you can see the navbar is still visible.
F11 is not a solution, either.

I've had it happen where it won't go in theatre more properly (why is that not default!) And basically you lose the bottom bar and half the video but the stuff on the side stays, essentially blocking the video. Quite annoying actually. Have to keep spamming refresh and it eventually works.
