Everytime when the weather gets really hot, I keep getting really slow or dropped wifi connections. Anyone experience the same? Could it be my wifi router?

Is your router itself getting hot or at least the room it is in? Some are definitely prone to to overheating and it could be your problem.

From a signal propagation standpoint there is do difference between cool weather and hot weather.

Humidity refracts wifi, this gives less signal and more noise = slow or disconnect wifi.

Poor termination or contact somewhere expanding in the heat. I used to have the opposite problem where my connection would get worse as the temperature dropped but then improve dramatically when it rained.

Same with all wireless signals. Humidity just sucks for wireless.

Summers at a WISP suck balls. Winters, thankfully, are great.

The OP only mentioned heat not humidity, but that could definitely be the case since Water does a good job of absorbing 2.4GHZ signals.

A microwave works at 2.4 GHZ for a reason.

I always find the radio signal in my car is better during rain. Is that weird, or is there a reason for that?

Higher humidity prevents static build up so reception is cleaner. Unless your receiver has an "S" meter you cannot determine if the signal is actually stronger.
