Why does my second monitor have problems playing videos?

I'm running dual monitors right now on my ti4200 and for some reason, if I play a movie on my second monitor, it's all jumpy and slow. I can even drag the movie from one monitor to the next and watch it slow down. Since the monitors are 2 different sizes (19" and 15"), they're running at 2 different resolutions. Could this be the source of the problems?
