Why does my router slow down every few days?

Originally posted by: Atheus
It probably runs out of memory for tracking connections and has no hard drive to swap them out.

Dosen't seem normal for a router though, does it?

It's pretty much normal for a home router if you are running P2P software that creates literally thousands of connections per hour (or per day if you're on a "slow" P2P network).

Try refreshing your router and let it sit for an hour. To expidite the process my friend put his router in the freezer for ten minutes and he never had slow down issues ever again. Although the "Freezer Method" as i call it is not advisable it works. Happy sailings

1. turn off logging.

2. what kind of router?

D-Link DI-624, the log is barely a page long, would that slow it down?
