Why does my Office 2000 programs still say SR1 after I installed SP2?

I've been wondering about this for a while. I have office 2k. I installed SR-1 and SP2 patches. But when I run word/excel/etc, and check the version, it still says 9.0.4402 SR-1.

it's the same for both W2k and XP.

Why doesn't it say SP2?

thx

I assume you mean Office 2k SP2 and not Win2k SP2. This is normal behavior for Office 2000. Just check the build numbers instead. There's a Q article in Microsoft's knowledgebase about this. But I can't remember the number right now. It's normal

Office 2000 Service Release One is a version of Office 2000. Service Pack [x] is a PATCH and is thus indicated by a change in the version NUMBER.
