Hey Anandtech,
I've been noticing, since some time, that my mouse cursor has this "lighter version/ghost" following it when I move it around. This is best noticeable on dark backgrounds, but it is also noticeable on lighter backgrounds.
Also, when I move it real quick from left -> right or right -> left, I have the feeling that the ghost of my cursor also has a ghost following it. Ghostception! But seriously, why does this happen? I have a Dell XPS 17
It actually bothers me a lot and it's frustrating because once you notice it, you keep noticing it.
Also, before you say it's mouse trails. Those are disabled. I enabled it and it's definetely not "that bad". It's not an actual second/third pointer following my main pointer, it's a ghost image (not as bright as the actual pointer) that only appears when you move it a certain speed on certain background colors (most colors actually, excluding black/white)
