Why does my laptop's LCD keep flickering??

It's pissing me off! It's acting like it's about to go out or something. It only seems to do this when running off the battery though, so wtf?

did u try restarting ?

maybe the battery is bad ? try changing the settings. Laptop displays usually dim when using battery.

Nah, it always does this. It's not like a slow dimming it just randomly flickers for a split second as if it was pluged in and you pulled the plug and the battery kicked in or something. It keeps doing it constantly though. I guess the battery could be bad.... but it still lasts 3 hours so I dunno. It's still under warentee. Wonder if I should call them?

It's a Sotec 3120X. The only reason I'm hesitant to call is they'd want me to send it in somewhere which would be a pain and i'd be w/o it for a while and they'd probably go ahead and wipe out all my sh|t! Im thinking it might be the screen is goin bad though so i guess I should call....

I'm thinking you are SOL. If you had bought a DELL a tech would have come to your place of business or your home, with the parts, to repair it.

Yeah and pay $1500 for a 10lb notebook? I think I'll pass on that. This thing cost me $700 after rebates has a dvd/cd-rw combo and weighs 4.4lb. It's probably not the LCD cause I went and plugged it in and it stopped doing it completely, so it's gotta be the battery. Maybe the battery isn't giving a constant voltage for some reason?
