Why does my grass have a green marble pattern?

Here's one for ya, I have a bermuda sodded lawn and since the first frost a few weeks back and since Bermuda is a warm season grass it has turned brown except for the pefect "marble" looking pattern of green grass throughout. Why does it do this, anyone know??

No idea. But, It reminded me of a story I heard about some kids (I swear not me or any of my friends) who once poured Fertalizer into a curse word on someones lawn. The person saw it the next day and washed it away with a hose and when the grass grew in that spot was always 'greener' than the surrounding grass.

I don't know if it's possible or true, but, maybe certain parts of your soil are more nutrient enriched than other parts?

I agree that sounds feasible to me but the weird thing is that it is such a consistent pattern, and that it is not only on my lawn but the others around here that are bermuda sod, also it doesn't seem to be this way on other types of grass though.

If you live in a rainy climate and mulch, the "marble pattern" is where the rain "deposits" the mulch and that will be greener. It is seen very often with Bermuda grass. You have 2 options... Bag the clippings (booo bad for the environment blah blah yadda yadda) or make sure you are running your mulching mower full blade speed and sharpen your blade every 2 months.
