Why does my DeskJet 820Cxi curl up the top of the paper?

I have an HP DeskJet 820Cxi, which I've had for 2-3 years now.. in the beginning it was fine, but somewhere down the line, something happened from one day to the other.
The problem has persisted through ever operating system I've had.
When it prints, it messes up the paper at the top - I don't mean with splattered ink and such, just the paper, like it touches somewhere on it's way through the printer
where it can't quite get through with out touching the edges of the printer or something...
I've looked, but can't seem to find any such place..So I have to use my fingers to straighten out the curls, but they never dissapear completely ;[

well to put it in technical terms, you have some schmutz on the feed rollers.

use windex on rag and see if you can force rotate them with your finger as you clean surfaces
you might also try thicker paper like Canon bright white

Have you tried Linux? I've heard that it is capable of repairing just about any mechanical problem a printer can have. If that doesn't work, then perhaps Unix?
