Why does my cpu temp run cooler than my system temp: EP-9NPA+ Ultra?

cpu: 3000+ venice
hsf: Zalman CNPS7000-Cu
cpu temp: 34C
system temp: 37C

What is this about? This is when rebooting into bios.

Because you Cpu is getting a bit more cooling, than your system is. How is the airflow in the case?

That's about right with a room temp of 25C or lower. The temp sensor on the board may not see direct air flow.

The temp sensor for the system is located near the mosfets, so it will get a bit warm in that area. Use the sinks that came with the board and be sure you have good air circulation in your case.

I have a Sonata but for the moment haven't a rear case fan installed. Fortunately, the Zalman is good for spreading the air around. I will attach the heatsinks that came with the motherboard only because Epox wouldn't have included them if they didn't want them installed. I have a cheap 120mm fan next to the hard drive case running slow (Zalman resister put to good use there) but moving air. I have the 120mm Antec that came with the case but cut off the pin connector cause for a while I was using a Zalman ZM-MFC1 fan controller.
I moved the fan controller to another case where it's more needed. That controller is not designed for Antec cases with their rail design.
Hey, I just remembered something about the PSU. It's a 450W SuperFlower with a 120mm or larger fan with 3 speed settings. Until I get that 120mm rear case fan installed I'll just switch it on to high.

Note: I don't think the other fan speed sensors are working in the bios. I connect fans but I get no speed reading. I'll follow up on this soon.
