Why does my 1900XP read 1200?

I have been reading these posts for a couple of days now so I finally decided to ask myself. I just bought the following rig.

MB VIA KT333|5P1A3D GA-7VRXP V 2.0
CPU AMD|1900+/266 ATHLON 1.6G XP % 1 $110.00
DDRAM 512M|64X64C2 PC-2100 PNY %
CPU FAN AMD|DBB WBK38 GLOBALWIN RT

I put the chip on the board with the fan and grease and booted her up. She is running good but my benchmarks and dxdiag show the CPU running on 1212 MHZ. What frequency multiplier be running at. Also I want the best possible system without overheating so I am not that concerned about overclocking but if my temps are low enough I would be willing to do this. Can someone please tell me the multiplier and FSB settings to give the best performance?

common mistake....

The board is set to a default 100fsb...probably just in case a person places in a duron or older tbird...

1900+ xp is 1600mhz or 12 x 133=1600

But, if you had 100fsb set it would be 12x100=1200....

look for jumper on board or in manual...
 
check the manual... but since its a newer board it will probably just be done in the bios

still some new boards do use a jumper to switch between 100 and 133mhz
