whoops accident. I was listening to the radio the other day( for the first time in ages) and I simply couldn't believe how bad the quality of music has gotten. Are there even any new bands that are any good? It seems like all this new **** really sucks ass. It seems like all the good music that's done today is by bands that were progressing through the 80s and 90s.

because it's easier and cheaper to make music now than it ever has been. unfortunately this makes it so pop-diva-wannabes can now sell records easily.

Hmmm,

Teddy Thompson
Damien Rice

... everyone else I can think of did start in the '90s or earlier, so I guess you're mostly right.

Every generation marches to a different drummer dude, listening to hip hop gives me an instant headache but Led Zeppelin is still cool in my head.

ROck music today IS gfarbage, in fact I would say it's in it's death throes as a pop genre. That would be a good thing though pop+rock=nickleback YUCK

thats it.

plus, its all been done before, long long ago, so dont expect to hear anything new.

I agree; "rock" from the '70s and '80s, and new wave/modern music from the late '70s through the early '90s is FAR BETTER in terms of musical quality than the vomit spewed forth by the music industry today.

I know plenty of new music that is absolutely outstanding.
You just have no exposure to it.

exactly right.

im with you, i became a metal head pretty late in the game - 1998 and im Black.
I had to go back 30 years and start all over so im still listening to good music thats new to ME from 1980's. BUT the new stuff that is coming out now is baaaaaaadd. ITs sounds like bad rap with guitars......but sounds worse than guitars with bad rap. 😕

There's still plenty of good new music out there. It's just that Clear Channel, Jacor, etc. have caused radio to become a haven for crap.

Thank God for MP3s.
