I have kazaalite running with ~200 dls queued and ~25 dling and no other big progs running. CPU usage on my 2700+ stays around 25% and kazaa.exe is listed as having 5 times more cpu time than any other process (except System Idle Process). why? is there any way to fix this? like a Kazaalite - lite version or something?

Kazaa v2 and higher have always had this problem. Its simply the fault of the coder(s) not writing the problem correctly.

Nothing much you can do about it. Although it would be nice if they would fix it.....

Have you tried looking for OpenNap servers and connecting to them? No opennap server = slow d/l. Lots and lots of opennap servers = fast d/l's and lots of media.

2 reasons it's a pig:

1. The built-in virus scanner in 2.0 SUCKS.
2. The way it flushes each file to disk every time a packet is received is super-inefficient. This is especially true if you have the files being saved to a mapped drive.

P.S. With a 1000 "participation level" the queueing isn't much of an issue.
