Why does Kazaa slow to less than 1k a second when a download nears completion?

This is rediculous that it does this, is it automatic ? Any way to prevent it from happening ?

Bump cause I'd like to know as well. What version of Kazza are you using BTW?

For some reason, I just started to notice it when I upgraded to v2.02, and I don't remember if the slowdowns were present when I used v1.72.

Because Kazaa pulls files from multiple users, on average like 5 or 6 at a time. At most unless you're on cable and they're on cable as well you're only going to pull in about 1k/s for each user. If it's so ridiculous then buy the damn cd, stop whining about stealing music

How come you seem to know so much about Kazaa downloads if you're against such "music stealing". FYI, I went out and bought the CD of the last songs I downloaded.

....most of my downloads are p0rn anyway... :)

Kazaa request different junks of files from different people, normally trying larger chunks from peeps with higher bandwidths, and smaller chunks from peeps with low bandwidth.

Often, the d/l from the latter category goes even slower than expected, so your download from the high bandwidth pc has completed, while waiting for the other to finish.

If the RIAA would stop lobbing congress to srip our rights
and
make cd's that play in all cd players
and
lowered cd prices ($15 - $19 when its $0.50 to produce)
and
release better music.

The I will stop using Kazza and buy Music.
Till then, Handle it.
