why does it take so long to shut down on my laptop?

why does it take soooo long to shut down on my compaq presario 2190us? does anyone else have this problem?

HD speed? RAM speed or amount? CPU speed? Could be a lot of things...like it flushing out the dll's that it's been using while you were running your laptop, or flushing the pagefile..could be a lot of things.
