yea same here, it dies down after a little while and then just stops, so i got "FlashGet". It splits up the file into 5 files and mirrors them off from different sites and then combines them into one at the end. Very fast!

Actually MS's servers & connections rock, they are just getting hammered. The SP has been out for all of what, two weeks?

I tried downloading SP3 for Win2K and it started at like 45 KB/sec but then after 2 minutes or so, it was at 15 KB/sec (this is on a 768 ADSL line). I left it to download overnite, woke up in the morning, and there was a "connection timed out" error. Damnit

The d/l for XP is a meager 133 MB, and it's a critical security update so their servers are probably getting hammered by everyone, including schools and businesses, as well as individuals. Glad I use Win98 SE. Next stop will probably be Linux. :)
