The light turns green, but some people just wont get going.

Is it that small engine trying to propel that big butt up to the speed limit, or is it that people are just oblivious to the fact that some of us have places to be? On most days, I notice that it's the small cars that are always holding up progress. :|

Wow is your life really show shallow that you have to complain about the extra 3 seconds it takes you to get moving at a light?

It's not about the extra 3 seconds, it's about the extra 5 minutes, because those types are usually driving in the fast lane, to boot.

lol cry me a river.

wvtalbot,
Don't, please! I'm not in the mood!

Lol, what you don't want someone to tell you your complaint is kind of stupid? Sorry I think it is. I mean seriously people these days are always in such a hurry to get somewhere, they have no courtesey for people around them. I mean come on stop and smell the roses for a second.

fine you do that and GET THE F OFF THE ROAD...
drive the goddamned speed limit (MINIMUM) or get the f out of the way..

this is exactly why I ride motorcycles .. so I can get around the morons.

Wow what took you so long? I know you would take any chance you get to crap on what I say. But hey its sweet justice when jerks like you get pulled over.

Here in Houston the moron holding up the traffic gets pulled over more than the minor speeders do..

they are more of a hazzard to traffic flow than someone thats keeping up with the flow of traffic.

wait for me to get pulled over.. youll be waiting along time.. and if and when i do (does not happen but maybe 1 time a year) I just get my lawyer to get me out of it as always.. 100 bucks bye bye ticket..

Which is exactly why I never will go to Texas, hell I even hate having to transfer at the airport in Houston, its simply a nasty place.

Where do you live? In California, we don't have time to smell the roses. If I slowed down for these fools, I'd be late too many times, out of my 40 minute commute. I might get fired.

Here is an idea: Leave earlier.

How about: Learn how to drive. =)

A lot of times when we have traffic jams, it's cause a bunch of pussy drivers that don't know how to deal with mergers, exits and etc. I love it when i get passed a certain point in a congested area to see no accidents, but to see a freeway clear up after going around a certain group of cars.

Yeah I bet things are a lot more laid back there in Hog Holler.

Thank goodness for small favors..

Maybe people who buy economically sound vehicles are also smart enough to know that driving like a bat out of hell like the guy behind them only puts others in jeopardy? If you don't have enough time to get there safely, leave earlier next time. Better to get there late and safe than get in an accident and not get there at all.

I love watching people in the rear view mirror that get so worked up because they have to drive only 7 over the speed limit instead of 15 over. Wah wah.

But I accellerate at a reasonable speed beacuse I get better gas mileage and am usually not in all that big of a hurry. Maybe you should leave earlier.

I do that too... and I LOVE IT
It is really cool also to see them kind of move over to the left, and watch them check out determining if it is just someone in front of you that is causing the hold up.. but then.. you move over to the left also, blocking their view..

I really hate impatient motherfvckers on the road today..

I usually always go the speed limit, if someone needs to go 65 in a 45 they can kiss my ass. And hey it amuses me that they are so pathetic the need to et upset because they can't break the law.

It is also breaking the law to impede the flow of traffic =). If everyone else is going 65, you should not be getting a ticket in the first place.

By the posts on this thread, I now know why my 10 minute commute takes almost 30 minutes (I've gone to work at night to pick up papers before and it was a breeze even with cars still on the road). Also, mind you I am not the type that weaves around cars like a mad man. I typically keep a constant speed to get to my destination. I get to work on time, it's just that maybe i wouldn't have wasted that extra 10 - 20 mins sitting behind a car who almost makes it seem like it is against his nature to pass green lights.

I've tried the "everyone else is doing it" excuse, and it never seems to work. 🙁

Therefore, I've resorted to leaving on time and obeying the law. I've also learned how to take deep breaths and relax so I don't die of a stroke when I'm 40.

Sigh another United States myth that speed kills..

do some homework. the ONLY reason the US has such low limits is the Federal Government thinks it will save gas in the long run..
IF the US instated stiffer drivers license laws and training like the rest of the world Speed limits would not be such a safety factor as people think they are..

speed doesnt kill.. untrained/inattentive drivers and speed kills.

which is exactly why I get the hell away from drivers that you can tell are either just poor drivers not able to handle their cars or inattentive drivers that are going to slow.. adjusting thier cell phones, radios, AC/heat etc etc etc.. this is how the DOT trains bikes in our classes... we are taught to get away from other cars and keep a speed buffer or 5-10 mph above other vehicles so we have ways to escape..

Now I dont condone speeding in residental or crowded areas or school zones. I always obey the slow limits there.. but in anything larger than a 2 lane highway speeding within reason is fine..

and yes most of the problems in the US is due to either OLD people.. that shouldnt have licenses.. or inexperienced drivers that have no business behind a wheel at all..

Cars should also not be allowed to have ANY entertainment controls or displays ANYWHERE the driver can see.. and cell phones should be 100% illegal while car is in operation.
all heating/cooling and radio controls should be standard as voice controlled items so the drivers do not have to take thier eyes off road at all.

train our drivers and eliminate all these distractions and you would see alot less accidents and drivers that are issues..

lol...That's why you take your case to court and fight it. If you are not weaving around cars endangering people you should get out of it. Good thing I never had to even think about going to court to fight a ticket. But I've had numerous friends who've gotten out of tickets since they were just keeping up with traffic. I've also had friends who have gotten tickets going 60 in a 35. I have no argument for that =)

I always leave early for work of course. Who wouldn't? It's just annoying to HAVE to get up early because SOMEONE else can't keep up with traffic. Or better yet, move over to the right lanes that happen to be going faster than the left lanes because of you.

I believe this to be somewhat true. Yes, we need to train our drivers better. I've heard too many accident stories where they start out driving on the freeway and then out of nowhere they end up over the divider or into another car. Not because some other car fishtailed them or nudge them. But because they lost control of their car. Now I don't know how the hell that is possible on a sunny day...

A bunch of people also drive reckless just because they feel they are special and don't have to stop at stop signs or redlights just because it LOOKS like no one is there.

Just shows how many people out there have 0 respect for the law.

Okay, look in your drivers handbook where it says keeping up with traffic is against the law buddy.

I agree.
Light turns green, step on the gas. Don't need to burn rubber, but need to get movin ASAP.
I hate fvcktards that just sit there and don't go for 5 or 10 seconds.
I also hate morons who take 1/4 mile to get up to the speed limit.

Slowing down to piss off drivers is not only against the law, it's just as bad as impatient people who cut you off after getting pissed at you for going slow.

And what I do to people like you? When I finally get around you, I pull right in the front of you and slam on the brakes.

The best bet is to just let people pass. You're not a cop and you never know when you're going to run into a psycho.

Just do what Tony Stewart does, bump them and if they don't get up to speed run them into the wall:shocked:

I don't drive like a bat out of hell, but I don't take 5 minutes getting up to 40mph, like some like to do. I leave an extra 10 minute early for work, for exactly the reasons of my rant.
A traffic light near where I live turns green, and at 1 car lenth behind starting out, the driver goes so slow, that I get a yellow and a red light before I can make it thru the intersection. Isn't that special. :|
