why does it take my comp over 20 hours to complete one wu in seti?

it a p4 1.9!!! for cryin out loud why does it take so long? how would i change my settings to high? i dont understand it very much
 
Are you using the screensaver (GUI) or command-line (CLI) version of the client? The GUI is much slower, and if you're running it, that's why your time was so high.
 
Also you will want to shut off any screen savers and make sure in the power saving options that power down hard drive is set to never.

Athlon 1.4GHz: 6.5hrs
Athlon 700MHz: 29hrs
PIII 600MHz 512K cache: 25hrs

CLI:

Athlon 1.4GHz: 4.75hrs
Athlon 700MHz: 10hrs
Pentium 600MHz 512K cache: 9hrs
