Why does Internet Explorer save pics as bitmaps?

I cant figure this out. When I look at a picture that is for sure a JPEG, when I right-click to "Save Picture As", Explorer wants to save it as a BMP with no other options. If I go back to the same page using Mozilla or Opera, I am allowed to save it as a JPEG. If I use another computer using IE, it allows me to save as a JPEG then, so why not mine?

Why does my Explorer do this? Is there anything I can do to save as a JPEG.

All help here is appreciated, cause this is gettin frustrating.
