Why does IE6 keep trying to save images as bitmap??

Has anyone seen this? You right-click on an image, save piture as, and your only choice is bitmap, even thought you KNOW that the image is a jpg or gif?

This is getting MEGA-annoying to have to open opera or firefox to save an image, and I'd just LOVE to fix the problem.

Why would it be annoying to open firefox or Opera. I find it annoyign to open IE for anything...

Anyway clear the temporary files.

Empty the contents of the Temporary Internet Files folder, and then delete the files in the Downloaded Program Files folder that are listed as either Unknown or Damaged.

Then delete the Internet Explorer icon from your desktop.
Then proceed to use Opera as your web browser from now on.
