why does ics not work for all websites?

I've got my main system running win2k pro connected to my dsl modem and my 100Mb lan. I've tried connecting both windows 98 and win2k systems on my lan using ics and the internet performance is slow at best and often won't access some websites (netscape.com, real.com, bank website, etc.).

What's the deal? :Q

If you are trying to access the same website at the same time with 2 computers, it is probably because the website wont let the same IP address log in at the same time. Probably a security feature in the case of the bank website.

If not... I really have no idea 😛

No, not trying the same site on both machines... 🙁

I'm wondering if a router would help, but I don't know if you can log on using pppoe from two different computers at the same time. :Q

I think there are some articles/fixes on slow performance when sharing an internet connection, but that was with Win98SE ICS, don't know if there's one for Win2K.
