also why does god ignore a good man who lives his life for others, who gives when asked, who puts others before himself but does not ask to be saved? yet a man who kills, rapes children, eats them, fucks guys in the back booth for all his life yet in the last 5 minutes of life ask for jesus and gets into heaven?

I am talking about children born with terrible conditions like SMA1, which robs them of any life. These children die from starvation or suffocation with in two years of life and their is nothing modern medicine can do to stop it. There are a whole bunch of genetic maladies like this that strike after birth and kill quickly.

These children are condemned at birth to die shortly, and to suffer through what life they have. What did they do to deserve this? Why is God punishing them?

Your asking WHY God seems to be unfair . Did God choose your mate or did you .

Millions and millions of perfectly healthy children are dieing in the world from starvation . You question GOd . Now I ask you what are you doing for these starving children . Didn't we as a nation a people slaughters 10s of thousand children in war. 2 bombs on japan and every war fought since . Did we as a nation a people slaughter a millions of native americans including their unarmed women and children . I think befor you question God you maybe need to ask yourself and your gooberment some real questions .

OP, your posts are getting to the point that I can tell who the poster is just by reading the thread title. That's a very small club.

Because of our society things will only get worse for new borns, I was blessed with 2 wonderful healthy children and 2 wonderful grandchidren. 1 of which I have no words that I can describe him . Very special child he be. I with false pride thank God for these blessing when God had nothing to do with it other than creation.

Did you just equate homosexuality with killing, raping children, and eating children?

Not much of a comfort, but as Roger Waters tells us, what God wants, God gets. Some human suffering is preventable and avoidable; some is not.

I'd be interested in hearing how you Believe God is responsible.
1) God allegedly created Universe.
2) Allegedly all-knowing, all-powerful god.
3) Birth is frequently referred to as a "miracle."
4) The genetic and molecular assembly process that takes place to form a fetus is not under human control. It proceeds according to laws of physics, which are god's domain since he's the one who allegedly created them in the first place.
5) Therefore, since it's allegedly god's Universe and god's laws and god's error-prone designs that are at work here, it sure as heck seems like he's awfully responsibility for a lot of this.

(We can go into the "free will rationalizes all of the bad things in the world" part too if you'd like, but even so, the whole notion of an all-knowing deity really thrashes that notion to pieces.)

Logic free zone is best zone.

I understand the human need to blame something for the hurts we suffer but, you still haven't shown responsibility. Should God have made us immortal, free from disease, perfect? Kinda sounds like we wouldn't be human anymore. Feel free to become something else, I kinda like being human.

I don't think Jeff7 blames god, he is the one who doesn't believe. The OP (presumably religious) blames god.

He is only blaming god in the context of speaking to a religious person, almost like a rhetorical statement/question, but he doesn't actually blame 'god'

Who gives when ASKED! Thats not giving. Do you not live for your chilfren and grandchildren . What exactly is it you want from GOD . You live now in the present on Gods holy kingdom yet your so blind you fail to comprehend it . The kingdom of God is inside you , Its all around you Its here now and has been since the beginning.

I posted in another topic the Gosphel of Thomas . Now I don't like to talk about the Holy spirit at all. But I am compelled to in this instance. I have never ever done anything like this before so I will try to take care of My spirit.

The Gospel of Thomas is considered herecy by the HRCC.

In that Gosphel It talks about men whom attain the holy spirit . Which is good . It goes on to discribe a man that the holy spirit chooses. You won't find these words anywere else
Remember this Gosphel is called herecy . Yet there be 2 men in history who claim the Holy spirit choose them . ST. Paul the Roman (remember this work is called herecy) and Mohammed. According to the gosphel of Thomas this makes these 2 exceptional men.

Were did Paul read this. Were did Mohammed read this . A man who couldn't read

Ok now the Holy spirit talk is over I am done with it . BUt I tell you now PAUL is a liar. Mohammed I just don't know . But the way he made converts I question .

If you truly believe in God, you'd find a meaning into children suffering diseases and early death. You can easily argue they serve as God's servants to remind people on earth the pain and suffering in life, and the need to work hard to earn a place in heaven in the after life. You can easily argue those children will return to god's grace after their suffer in life and enjoy eternal happiness.

See, that wasn't too hard isn't it? The question is if you don't want to believe in God, why do you care, and question those who does?

<---- Not a religious person.

I am an atheist, the question is directed at theist who worship a god that allows and causes horrible suffering.

How does God cause these things. You people sound like the left and entitlement. There is a God so if I pray to him , I should receive what I ask of God . Already stated You have life you live on Gods wonderful kingdom . Why not do for yourself . With the faith of a mustard seed you could move mountains . So why do you need Gods help?

You have to realize that no matter what you ask the religious they are going to come up with an answer that you can neither prove, nor disprove. There is no rhyme nor reason it all boils down to faith and they will come up with an answer to anything you ask in order to defend their beliefs.

You are any better???

Actually, he did. If you're willing to forgo the attribute of omnipotence with infallible foreknowledge for God, then you can have a valid objection. At the moment the point stands that any creator God with infallible foreknowledge is culpable for the totality of events that transpire as a consequence of deciding to create precisely this universe.

Should God have made us immortal, free from disease, perfect?
Isn't that exactly what he promises to turn the "saved" people into when they enter Heaven? That's pretty much the party line as far as Christian dogma goes. Why not start there instead of all this rigmarole and unnecessary suffering?

Kinda sounds like we wouldn't be human anymore.
I think it would be up to God to decide what "human" is, and there's nothing stopping him from making "human" mean "immortal, free from disease, perfect."

Feel free to become something else, I kinda like being human.
That just reveals a lack of imagination.
